Vale- Year Long Strike

As of Sunday, August 1, the strike between the United Steelworkers Local 9508 and Vale reached the one year mark.

Darren Cove is the President of Local 9508.

He says there has been no progress and they’re still sticking to their guns.

Cove says he met with the union members yesterday.

He says despite the situation, they are getting stronger as the days go on.

And will hold out till the very end if need be.

  1. Endako Mines, an open pit molybdenum mine in northern BC is constructing a new mill that will be in production in 2011.

They are apparently hiring a lot of people right now. Look them up on the internet. Search for Fraser Lake Mine and you should come up with something. I am close by and if anyone is interested, I will do all I can to help you with accomodation and transportation and get you set up there.

Fraser Lake is a beautiful place and is close to Prince George BC.

Send me an email at ackountman@hotmail.com after you contact them and they are interested.
